Russia Mail.Ru, Sberbank simplify payments for goods via social nets
MOSCOW, Sep 2 (PRIME) -- Russian Internet giant Mail.Ru Group and Sberbank, the country’s biggest bank, have simplified payments for goods and services via accounts of the group’s social networks Odnoklassniki and VKontakte, Mail.Ru Group said Tuesday in a statement.
Users who have tied a banking card to an account in the social network can pay from it for third-party services in a click.
“A user has to pass authorization in a social network and enter 3D-secure password to confirm the payment to pay for goods or services. It eliminates the need in having a card at hand to make a payment. Facilitation of the purchase process helps sales growth,” Andrei Yefimochkin, director for electronic commerce at Mail.Ru Group, said.
The service guarantees a quick and secure payment in Internet stores that accept Sberbank cards. The security of payments is ensured by compliance with international PCI DSS standard for work with card payments and data of cardholders.
“Thanks to the new service, trade enterprises that use the service of Sberbank’s Internet acquiring will be able to improve user trust to the payment process in Internet…The multimillion audience of VKontakte and Odnoklassniki received a simpler and more convenient way of paying for goods in Internet stores that are connected to the platform of Sberbank and Mail.Ru Group,” Svetlana Kirsanova, director for trade acquiring management at Sberbank, said.
